Doug Maletz, EA

Enrolled to practice before the IRS.

Hi! Thank you for checking out our website!
I am an Enrolled Agent, a tax professional licensed since 1983 by the US Department of Treasury to practice taxation, although I've been doing this since 1976. I practice all facets of taxation, specialize in individual taxation and can easily handle out-of-state returns and IRS audits.

Besides myself, our firm boasts three CPA's, two staff accountants, and two bookkeepers available to service your needs. Each of us has decades of varied and excellent experience. Our individual tax clientele are from all walks of life. Small businesses, professional farmers, landlords, homeowners, tenants, married, single, and registered domestic partners. Our business clientele has roots in retail, the entertainment industry, the trades, pest control, the garment/fashion industry, automotive repair, hair salons, opticians, and homeowners associations, amongst others. Our professional clientele is comprised of physicians, dentists, attorneys, psychologists, insurance agents, realtors, and mortgage brokers, amongst others.

As you explore this site you will gain access to valuable information at no charge. The Occupational Worksheet area alone can save you thousands of dollars in taxes by helping you hone in on deductions relating to specific occupations. Within individual taxation, I have particular expertise with firefighters / paramedics, law enforcement officers, sole proprietors, entertainers, grips, gaffers, realtors, mortgage brokers, teachers, nurses and psychologists. Click on Occupational Worksheets to access the worksheet that applies to you. For example, the worksheet for law enforcement officers is a detailed tool I use to help Sheriff deputies, police officers, Secret Service agents, FBI agents, military officers and even security guards maximize their deductions. What is a worksheet? It’s an extremely detailed list of expenses you incur in your everyday routine. You actually know all this stuff, but tend not to think when you buy them about these items being deductible at tax time, so you forget about them. It’s a tax professional’s job to remind you about deductions by asking you the right questions - something many accountants these days just don’t do. The worksheets are great memory joggers... and that's worth a lot. My experience shows that the more specific you are itemizing your expenses, the more deductions you'll uncover and the more income taxes you will save. Please e-mail me at doug@bottomline1040.com and I will be happy to answer your questions.

After seeing evidence of my experience with these professions, we can work together to maximize the amounts in each category, based on what I normally see amongst your peers.

This site will also give you referrals of other professionals at the top of their game, important distinctions between E.A.’s and CPA’s, and finally, information about me and how to find my office by car, phone, FAX, or email.

I’m confident you will find this site worth your while and look forward to working with you.

Sincerely, Doug Maletz
